Caribbean Cruise – Special Edition

This is a special edition post! To celebrate our new subscribers, this post will be about an incredible week aboard one of the best cruises in the world – and not the most expensive!

The Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas cruise sails from Cape Canaveral in Florida, and makes it first stop in a private island. It then moves on to Saint Thomas and later Saint Maarten. After 6 nights you’ll dock back in Florida.

Accommodations

This enormous 15 deck cruise has a theatre, an ice rink, a water park, a rock climbing wall, a surf simulator and more to keep everyone on board entertained.

As it is a cruise, rooms aren’t very big, but they are comfortable and the staff leaves chocolate and decorated towels every night. Most restaurants are all inclusive, so prepare to gain a few kilos during the week.

Activities

When you’re not out exploring the islands, there are many pools and bars you can relax in. If you’re not a big fan of laying back in the sun with a cool drink, endless snacks and your toes in the pool, you can always sign up for the hundred activities available. You can climb a wall, surf, ice skate and more.

The cruise offers more than pristine oceans and white sand beaches. The islands are gorgeous and perfect to explore in a day. Old towns, view points and local restaurants.

Food Tips

Like I said, the cruise is all inclusive, so the majority of restaurants are “free”. Some are not included, like Johnny Rockets or Ben and Jerry’s. There are many delicious pizzerias and other themed restaurants, like Mexican or Japanese.

Packing Tips

Do not forget your bathing suit! You’ll also need sunscreen, sunglasses and light clothing. Also, pack a pair of comfortable shoes for your days on the islands.
